Artists Imagine Architecture asks the question of why so many artists, including those mentioned above, are fascinated by the architectural model. As Chief Curator Jessica Morgan points out in her essay, at a time when architects are increasingly moving away from the tactile towards virtual representations of architecture for clients and for exhibition, artists are rediscovering the pleasure and the potential of the formal and conceptual qualities of the small scale model.
